We had great care at the hospital. I would definitely recommend them. We loved our night nurse, Carrie especially. The aids walked us to the car. We are excited even to put baby Gracie in her carseat. Wow, new firsts for her for everything. This is going to be fun. We left on June 25 (my actual due date).

Here is our first family shot in hospital bed on June 24. We are sooo blessed to have baby Gracie! We’ve waited almost 8 years for her. We are so excited that she decided to come to our family. We are proud parents for sure!!!

Gracie and the Swine Flu?

Here is Gracie with all the family. Both my mom and dad's side and Alex's side of the family. Unfortunately everyone had to wear masks so you can't see their faces. It was pretty histerical to look back on it now but then I was pretty upset. They had to put Gracie on 8 antibiotic injections--all because they needed to be cautious of the Swine Flu. Of course all the cultures came back negative!

Mine Angels Round About Me!!

Here is our sweet gift from heaven, our little girl, Grace Marie. Born June 23 at 0835 am. Her little cry was a sweet coo. I know that there were so many relatives and friends that had passed on that were there to send Gracie through the veil. What a sweet and special day this was. Boy it just flew by too!

the eve and early morning of June 23....

So the story goes that I started pretty hard cramping pains at around 9:00pm when I was getting ready for bed. By now I've heard so many stories of women getting turned away at the hospital that I decided to just wait it out and go to bed. I could barely wash my face without hurting. Then I decided after 5 minutes in bed to go and watch tv or something to distract me. Alex (the stinker) was just sleeping in the recliner this whole time and didn't suspect anything. So when he woke at 11:00pm I told him he could go to bed and I would just wait it out. He was sweet and told me to call the hospital. By now I was contracting around every 2-3 minutes. Soon it was around 1:00 am and I thought we should go to the hospital. When I arrived I was at a "4" and 90% effaced. Unfortunately I had a little fever running. So immediately I was put on strict Swine Flu precautions. (Oh brother!!) The epidural ended up not being in the right place. My legs got so numb that they could not function fully until June 25 2 days later! I felt everything until around 10 cm when I demanded a bolus. The anesthesiologist finally arrived after being paged hours before that. At 7:30am he gave me a bolus. Then I waited for the doctor to finish his C-section. Gracie was "right there" and we waited.
When the doctor arrived, Alex was instructed to come deliver Gracie because he was a med student. (It was my idea.) So the nurses held my legs and I only pushed 4 times and out came Gracie June 23 at 0835 am!)

The day before the big one!!

Alex and I were off now. Gracie hasn't come yet thank goodness! Alex had to take a big exam after clinicals on June 19. Whew! My last day of work was June 18. So ....Monday June 22 I got to clean and scrub the house from top to bottom. Bev took me to Ruby River Steakhouse. YUMMMY!!! Then Alex came and we went shopping and to a fun bag pipe concert at Red Butte Gardens. Little did we know that that night I would have the worst cramps ever. Here is me out enjoying the purple "Koosh" ball flowers at Red Butte Gardens.

Our friends Ben and Julie's baby Jordan....

So my wonderful friend Julie had her baby June 12. They named him Jordan Carter. What a sweet little boy he is. Maybe he'll be Gracie's good buddy.

My family is so sweet. After 5 showers and 5 bags of hand me downs Gracie has a few clothes to go through until she is 6 months old. After that she may be a little chilly. But we'll have fun buying stuff too. Thank you so much all for your kindness and generosity!

My Buddies (picture from May)...

Sarajane (from Los Angeles) and Julie came to a nearby park and we just hung out one day when I was off of work. We had lots of fun with their kids and eating lunch. Sarajane gave me a very cute blue dress for Gracie. What a wonderful friend she is. Hope all is well with her.

Trip to the Temple...

So Alex and I went and did Iniatories and sealings at the SLC temple right before Gracie came. It was funny seeing how large I was. I had to rent a "large" temple dress too. What a sweet experience it was though. I cried so much during the whole time. Must be the hormones. :)

Baby Shower at Aunt Julie's House.....

Aunt Julie and all her girleys and my Dad's side aunts/cousins threw me a shower in May for Gracie too. It was so sweet and wonderful. I cry at the generosity of my wonderful relatives. My cousins came down from Idaho just for the shower. What awesome people they are. My cousins gave me 2 big bags of hand me downs for Gracie. It will be so fun to dress her up!!! They played a fun "Guess the Lullaby" game. During the game, I heard the song, "Gracie Girl" by Ben Folds and just bawled. I am so excited to welcome Gracie here! Definitely listen to this song!

Baby Shower at Bev's House

June 6: I was so overwhelmed with the generosity of everyone!! Bev was so sweet and threw me a baby shower for baby Gracie. She and Barbara and Debra worked hard. The cousins came down from Idaho (Alex's side). It was a fun and enjoyable day.

Our great friends Heather and Ryan were married May 30 at Log Haven up Milcreek Canyon. It was a pleasant day out and smelled like the end of Spring. Yumm....
